The game will use a fairly standard interface, similar to other strategy games. You will be able to select units, move them, attack with them and build new structures simply using the mouse. You will be given an overhead view of the map, an indication of your monetary resources and a minature over view of the map.
On most levels you will begin with a castle an a handful of troops, you must then make use of your resources to construct new buildings and train an army to protect yourself and defeat your enemy. At the beginning of the game your castle will be a simple wooden affair but as you progress through the game more advanced castles will be available, allowing you to train more advanced warriors and build more sophisticated defences.
On some levels you may not be given a castle at all, you may have to make do with the troops you are given, or you may need to rescue workers to start building.
The player can add new buildings to their settlement, such as blacksmiths to upgrade the strength of their warriors swords and armour, a stable to obtain mounted knights. Some of these buildings will be separate buildings on the map, others may be added internally to the castle. The list of buildings so far is:
Once you have the appropriate buildings you will be able to train the following unit types:
You can also build various seige weapons, using the advanced armoury, such as Catapults, Trebuchets, Ballistas and Battering rams.
The game is completely interactive, not turn-based. This means that your troops and workers will continue with their work with out you doing anything. It also means that if you leave the game unpaused you may experience a surprise attack from the computer!
